The challenge: turning global attention into opportunities

Major events generate millions of impressions. But attention alone does not create growth.

dLocal has a major advantage: a product built to solve one of the key complexities faced by companies looking to grow in emerging markets. Its customers are not browsing social media looking for a payments solution. They are global companies, international expansion teams, and decision-makers who are exposed to hundreds of messages every day.

Building demand generation strategies for such a specific segment requires much more than buying media. It requires identifying exactly who to speak to, when to reach them, and how to transform a moment of high exposure into a relevant conversation.

That is precisely one of the challenges Boomit has been working on together with dLocal: building a Paid Media system capable of combining global scale with the precision required to reach a highly specific universe of companies and decision-makers.

For Boomit, this means building a strategy capable of generating scale without sacrificing precision: identifying the right accounts, reaching the relevant profiles within those organizations, and transforming brand exposure into interactions with real business potential.

The World Cup raised that challenge even further. The reach opportunity was enormous, but generating millions of impressions was not enough. We had to take advantage of that level of attention without diluting the strategy’s B2B focus.

The challenge, therefore, was to build a strategy capable of leveraging the World Cup context without losing sight of the core business objective. Every action needed to contribute both to brand positioning and demand generation, and every investment needed to be measurable beyond reach or impressions.

The strategy had to demonstrate that branding and performance do not compete with each other. When they operate under the same logic, both disciplines can accelerate growth.

The strategy: taking a brand idea into a global media strategy

The World Cup created an opportunity that was different from the always-on strategy Boomit had already been developing.

It was not simply about increasing the frequency of existing campaigns. The challenge was to take the creative concept into new channels, audiences, and formats, leveraging the scale of the event without losing precision over a highly specific B2B target.

To capitalize on that opportunity, Boomit designed and implemented a global Paid Media strategy that expanded the World Cup concept into new channels, audiences, and formats, assigning a specific role to each platform within the strategy.

LinkedIn allowed us to bring the campaign to decision-makers and profiles with influence over purchasing processes within strategic companies, combining brand building with an Account-Based Marketing approach.

YouTube, incorporated into dLocal’s strategy for the first time during the World Cup, enabled us to bring the concept into an audiovisual environment and expand campaign reach based on contextual, affinity, and digital behavior signals.

TikTok added another layer to the strategy, with a global activation designed to take the creative concept to new audiences and leverage the native language of a platform that becomes especially relevant during a cultural event of this scale.

At the same time, the strategy operated alongside the always-on demand generation initiatives that Boomit already manages for dLocal, keeping campaigns focused on capturing intent and generating commercial opportunities active.

The result was an ecosystem in which branding and performance stopped operating as two independent efforts: the World Cup amplified the brand while the acquisition infrastructure continued transforming interest into demand.

The results

dLocal’s presence during the World Cup went beyond brand exposure.

The activation also expanded dLocal’s Paid Media ecosystem, incorporating new channels and validating new ways of bringing a global B2B strategy to relevant audiences.

Between April and June, branding campaigns generated more than 6 million impressions.

Creatives developed specifically for the World Cup achieved engagement levels significantly above dLocal’s usual LinkedIn benchmarks.

The most relevant result, however, was the quality of that exposure.

The strategy we designed demonstrated a high level of precision in reaching target audiences. During June, the companies with the highest reach were strategic accounts, and a very high percentage of impressions reached organizations aligned with the defined segmentation.

The strategy was measured end to end, connecting branding with demand generation and making it possible to evaluate the impact of the effort against real commercial indicators.

The most important outcome

Major events generate attention. But attention alone does not change a business.

What makes the difference is the ability to transform that exposure into conversations with the right companies, strengthen brand positioning, and accelerate long-term commercial relationships.

That was the real challenge of a strategy targeting a segment as specific as dLocal’s: reaching the people who actually make decisions, at the right time, with a message capable of building trust.

The strategy we developed for dLocal during the World Cup reflects the way we understand Growth at Boomit: start with a great product, a strong brand, and a team with the ambition to grow, and build the AdTech, Demand Generation, and Paid Media capabilities needed to accelerate their impact in the market.

At Boomit, we do not see Paid Media as a tool for buying reach. We see it as growth infrastructure capable of connecting creativity, data, media, and business to reach the right companies with the right message.

Because generating impressions is relatively easy. Turning attention into trust, and trust into business opportunities, requires strategy.
